She lives to write while carrying the dream of becoming a renowned author.

Her first self-published book of her favourite 130 poem collection is called Sentiment.

Through hard-work and determination, Heather is truly thrilled that her first book Sentiment was published on March 21,2021. This book has taken Heather on a five year emotional journey to complete. As she lost her mother in 2016, this life transformation has possessed her to be more passionate and transparent with her written words to captivate the reading audience.

Her poems also portray heartbreak, loss, hopelessness losing oneself to your inner emotions. With self-growth, love and healing to discover happiness, harmony and peace again.

“This poetry collection will inspire those that has suffered a tragic loss, a heartbreak to realize that it is okay not to be okay, that you are not alone that we stand together,” she said.

After dreaming about writing a book since her elementary school days, Heather still feels surreal that she is now a published author.

Heather has already started working on her second book, which will portray more about mental health issues, struggling with anxiety and depression.

“It will be a lot more raw and personal,” she said.

“Striving to fulfill emotions of hope, reconciliation and peace.”

Earlier this year, Milligan had her poem “If my Heart Were a Home” published in the National Poetry Contest and in the book Broadcast. The top 13 poems from writers across Canada were chosen and Milligan’s poem was one of them.
