Everyone in the world was affected by COVID-19 in 2020, and it was no different for MLA for Livingstone-Macleod Roger Reid, who had to change the way he dealt with issues and the way he interacted with his constituents.
“We’ve had to be more flexible, we as a government had to look at some of the commitments we made in the election and tweak those a little bit, because we have certainly seen the huge impacts COVID-19 has had on the people of Alberta,” said Reid.
COVID also added to the economic challenges that Alberta was facing.
“There was a huge economic retraction, there was a significant drop in energy prices in Alberta. Those were already a challenge for Albertan’s before and COVID was just icing on the cake,” said Reid.
The MLA said he went into 2020 with positivity.
“Our numbers were promising in terms of job creation and some growth in the economy but then we started to take hits in February and March due to the complications of the pandemic and it has made it challenging for all of us,” said Reid.
